sooooooo excited!!

I'm just so excited! Eric and I decided to go down to Natural Bridge on May 31st/June 1st to check out the venue and to get Engagement photos!!!! I'm waiting on a response from our photographer (Brinn Willis) as to when it would be better to get photos (morning or late afternoon). She suggested a great place to have them done (Boxerwood Gardens) In Lexington, VA and I looked around at the site and it does look great. I will finally be able to give a little tour of VMI to Eric (and I haven't been back since 2006, so it will be neat for me too!). We'll get to see what the venue will look like and envision if this is the right place for us and (hopefully) set the date!!! Eric is one of those people who likes to think things through, but i'll know it when I see it if its right for us or not. We'll only be 12 months out at that point, so it wont be "rushing" it to book it in my opinion. Things are finally coming together!!!

I am set on the dark purple dresses and lime green flowers as an accent. As much as I love Navy Blue, I think the purple is more springy/summery, especially with the bright green! I have set a date (June 18th) to get together with my BM's to try on dresses. The only "if" is Laura. She isn't sure if she will be free, but hopefully she'll just make plans to be there and if not, we may just have to go forward without her. She has a similar body shape to Tiffany, so.....we'll see. These are my top three right now ( I have included a 4th option if none of the 3 work):

1. Dress 1
2. dress 2
3. Dress 3
4. Dress 4

What do you all think? The color is going to be "Lapis" and I want the dress material to be the chiffon, which is a flowy, less formal material. I like the long dresses because it is more flattering and forgiving!

Well, that is it for now!!!! Thanks for reading!!!

  1. Hmmm...I am torn between Option 1 and 4, both are pretty, but Option 2 has the ruffles, which looks nice too! I'm sure once you see the dresses on your girls, one will pop out for sure! Boxerwood is awesome, it's a great place for photos and Brinn is awesome too! She'll hook you up with some great pics!

  2. Hey Colleen,

I have no idea how I even came across your blog but it is SO cute! Dress #3 is my favorite for sure, but I'm a sucker for fabric flowers. And your wedding colors are absolutely perfect! Bright colors always make fore great pictures.

Looking forward to the engagement shoot!
